The qualifying for the ESSMBA singles takes place this weekend on Sunday 17th November and is being held at Grovelands primary school in Hailsham.
This season the county competitions have had a name change from the county to the ESSMBA competitions. This was decided at the last AGM. The format will remail the same with qualifying being held over two sessions. The morning session check in time will be 8.30 am, the afternoon session 12.30 pm. Players will have been sent information regarding the session in which they will be playing and are available here. (AM/PM)
There are the 28 entries in the competition this year, the top two in each of the 7 groups along with the next two highest scoring players will go forward into the Main competition with the remaining players in both morning and afternoon sessions going forward to the Plate competition.
The knockout rounds to ¼ final stage will be played on the Saturday of finals weekend, 5th April 2025, with the semi finals and final to be played on the Sunday, 6th April 2025.
The cost will be £8.00 per person per discipline, which includes tea/coffee and biscuits. This
is to be paid on the qualifying day. Players are asked to mark matches in their groups to help the day flow. Umpires will be available if required.
The finals will be played over the weekend of 5th/6th April 2025. Before entering any of these
competitions, please ensure that you will be available for both of these days.
Last years competition saw a tight final between Edward Law and John Wilson, that went to an extra end after ending a draw and with a measure to finally decide the winner as John Wilson.
