It was a busy weekend not only within the county, but also at a national level.
Broad oak triples – 16/11/24
Saturday saw the popular Broad oak triples tournament take place. 18 teams from across the county took part. The final was contested between Chailey and Hollington with plenty of action over 6 ends. It ended with Hollington winning 11-6. Thanks to the members of Broad Oak, the day went smoothly with all taking part enjoying the day.
ESSMBA Singles qualifying – 17/11/24
The first internal qualifying event of the season was held on Sunday at Grovelands primary school, Hailsham. 28 players were split into 7 groups over the AM and PM sessions. 16 players have now moved on to the next round of the main competition with the remaining players moving on to the plate competition. British Isles Championships, Scotland 16/11/24 – 17/11/24
This weekend was also the British Isles championships held at Auchinleck Indoor Bowling Club, Scotland. England came 3rd in both the Prem and A team events, with Ireland winning both. England were successful in winning the induvial fours in both and the pairs in both, with Glenn Harvey of Plumpton winning with his partner Jack Marshal in the A team pairs.
